This antique Chinese silk embroidered forbidden stitch precious objects vest robe dates from the late 19th century during the Qing Dynasty. It is made of a white silk fabric, with colorful raised padded satin stitch, forbidden stitch Peking knot, gold couching hand embroidery work precio...us objects symbols of wealth and good fortune with peony flower vase, swastika design Chinese character for ten thousand and longevity. This semi formal court attire sleeveless vest style tunic robe has a long mid length, loose fitting style, with open sides, carved round brass button toggle side closures, black silk, blue silk woven trim edging and is fully lined in a orange silk fabric with Chinese calligraphy characters inside (see close-up). The vest measures 22 inches long, 12 inches wide across the top and 26 inches wide across the bottom. It is in good condition, with a few faint small stains, some loose missing areas of embroidery thread work and is missing 1 button closure at the bottom. This is truly a wonderful piece of Chinese wearable art!
