Welcome to Antiques & Moore! This listing is for an unusual U.S. Zone Germany blue porcelain Scent or Perfume Bottle with Sterling silver overlay decoration and "Crown" finial top.This beautiful scent bottle has a blue porcelain body decorated with an intricate sterling overlay with a stylized floral and foliage design on both front and back. The bottle is further embellished with silver side panels, base and neck. Unusual "crown" f...inial screw on top which removes to expose "sprinkler" style bottle. The bottle is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks or noted flaws. The screw on top has some "play" when screwed on completely, however, the top fits nicely and this is not a problem. Also the silver overlay in unmarked but tests to be high grade silver. Measure 2 1/2" tall, 2 1/8" wide and 1/2" deep. The solid silver base is marked "US Zone, Germany" with an "X" on side. This mark dates the scent bottle between 1945-1949.I have been told by another eBay seller that this bottle was made by Carl Spahr who once worked for WMF and that these bottles were overlaid in 1, 000 silver. Many were marked Spahr 1000 and were made at the factory in Stuttgart.
