FRESH FROM A LOCALESTATE IS THIS VINTAGE 1953 Mattel "The Popeye Getar" (toy guitar) in Box. Unused/Old Store Stock! Box is in great shape with no tears or rips. Guitar is also in great shape. Very clean. Bright colors! You can get guitar to play. Has rubber belt which makes sound as you crank handle. However, from sitting from over 50 years, the belt gets stretched out and won't move when cranked. I found that putting a thin object (see photo) in opening on face of guitar as you ...crank it, push on belt and it will move, playing the Popeye Theme Song! I have found the more you play with this method the easier it is to get to play, sometimes just by touching belt. No guarantee it will work without applying pressure to belt. I have done this with this guitar and process works. Sometimes cranking really fast gets it to work as well. Would make a great addition to any collection. Pleaseemail with questions.
