Description:English Silver J W Benson Pocket Watch London 1888This an English pocket watch with clear hallmarks for London1888The watch works well and keeps good time BUT has not beencleaned or serviced and so is sold “as is” with NO Warranty or partial refundsMovement – The gilt ¾ plate movement has a lever escapementand a compensated balance. The movement is signed “The Ludgate Watch. JW BensonBest London Make, Ludgate Hill, London, By Warrant To H.H The Queen” 43331. Them...ovement is in 50% mint condition – badly scratchedCase – the movement comes in an English silver open facecase, which has a hinged inner, back and bezel. The case has coin edged sides, engineturning and a vacant circle on the back. The case is in 75% mint condition –some wear but still in excellent conditionDial – the white enamel dial has a pair of gilt hands and ablue steel sub seconds hand. The dial is signed “J W Benson, London” and is in80% mint condition – damage in the centreThe watch measures 50mm wide x 16mm deepThe watch has a mineral glassThe watch is key wound and key set and comes with an oldantique key
