Up for auction is my c.1980s example of a LeJour PVD-coated Automatic Chronograph. I am making room for a new acquisiton and this piece no longer gets enough wrist time. Heuer manufactured LeJour chronographs under a private-label arrangement in the 1980's. This example uses the same movement and PVD-coated case as the Heuer Pasadena. A similar Orfina/PD model was famously worn by LT Pete "Maverick" Mitchell, played by Tom Cruise in the hit movie "Top Gun.”It is not easy to find an e...xample where the early PVD has not worn off (PVD process in the late 1970's and early 1980's was not fully refined and results were fragile). The case is nearly perfect, and most of the wear to the bracelet is on the underside and not visible on the wrist. The movement has been recently serviced, the pushers and chronograph functions work as they should, and the watch is ready to wear. An instantly recognizable and classic timepiece. No reserve.
