George E. Ohr Crumpled and Torn Hat, measuring 2 1/4 x 6 x 5 inches. This sculptural form is in very good condition with a kiln kiss on the "brim" and several minor nicks (see photos). The undulating and torn brim is very thin. It is glazed in brown, dark brown, and gun metal splotches throughout. It is marked with an incised "Biloxi " on the top of the hat.This piece came from a David Rago sale "Arts and Crafts Absentee Auction" January 21, 1994&nb...sp;and he is quoted in the catalog writing "The best Ohr hat we've ever seen."This catalog will be included with your purchase.
