These 2 French COLOR CHANGING Cameo ART GLASS vases are just very slightly under 8" tall. The surface of the pale celadon green glass extraordinary. It is very rough and looks like slushy ice. The black glass layer is almost totally eaten away, it only remains as a stark, encircling tree form, a trunk with branches that wrap completely around the neck, and scattered black rocks all about the widest part of the form. The two glass layers are then encrusted with a white... hand painted enamel snow. It ranges from a thin line dusting small branches to heavy patches of thick blob like drifts. Both are signed. These look pale grayish green normally, if you set them in bright sunshine they look distinctly BLUE GREEN, almost a light peacock blue green, and it is rather a shock how much the color changes the first time you do it.
