Sands Hotel and Casino Ashtray Set
Circa 1967-1981
I am selling these as a set to highlight the difference between an example in pristine condition compared to one in average condition.
The collectable value in these ashtrays is the logo applied to the bottom which is easily scratched and worn. Seldom are these found in perfect condition (the logo) like one of the two in this listing. Even out of the box they were often damaged.
These ashtrays were ...mass produced and the quality of the glass reflects that. This one...(the good one) does have 2 small chips near the cigarette rest above the word "Sun". Probably that way from the box since it is clear that the bottom logo never touched a bar surface.
The second example in comparison is in average used condition with a lot of marks and ware one the logo but surprisingly no chips....go figure
