LARGE BLUE KEROSENE OIL LAMP SHADE GLOBE
Thislisting is for the shade/globeonly. I previously sold a similar shade in buff which is shown on a B&H Banquet. The photos of the complete lamps are for display purposes only. This shadeis in very good condition. Thetop rim is chip and crack free although there are a couple of rough spots.Thereare the occasional air bubbles and inclusions which are standard withglass of this age and the... usual fleabites with an elongated bubble to the fitterrim. The dark line on the fitter shown in the photos is light refractingoff this bubble, not a crack.Thereis a small manufacturers fault/flaw by way of the shade missing a small amount of etching/frosting just under the rough patch on the top rim together with some minor signs of use.Althoughthis is very LARGE globe/shade it would, more than likely, have come off a parlourlamp. Even though these big globeson smaller lamps were quite popular for a time during the Victorian period, to me, they always look top heavy and out of proportion so Igraced my B & H spelter banquet lamp with one just like this and theproportions, in my opinion, were perfect. Thisblue is unusual and it is the first time I have seen a globe in this colour forthis period. It is soft and muted yetquite strong with good depth. Its simple lines will not detract from an ornate fount andbase yet it will still draw your eye, even though less fussy, due to itsbeautiful colour and its impressive size.DIMENSIONS H 245mm (9 1/2")W 203mm (8" widest point)F 120mm (4 3/4") Please view the photos carefully as they form a major part of the description. If you have any questions please contact me.
ALL BUYERS
Ebay's postage options are a little restrictive and costing is not always accurate.
Items which need extra attention/care (antiques, glass, delicate/fragile etc.) may require double boxing and therefore may cost more than the displayed shipping charges. The handling charge is to cover the cost of packaging etc. I use recycled packaging as much as possible.
Please note that if you request a shipping quote I only charge for actual cost of shipping and will source the least expensive option as more times than not it is cheaper to use a courier than Australia Post. I am happy to combine postage where possible.
If you are unsure of the accuracy of the displayed shipping cost please contact me BEFORE making payment because if, after payment, you find this component was more than it should have been I will not reimburse the balance.
I will no longer provide a refund due to buyer regret or because a buyer is not diligent and fails to take the time to read the listing.
