The owner of this piece worked as a cataloger for Harmer Rooke Galleries in NYC, mostly focused on Amer...ican glass and bottles but was also exposed to ancient glass. This inevitably led to exposure to the ancient arts and the meeting of both dealers and collectors in the ancient art genre. Also he had been a collector of Imperial Roman coinage, restricting himself to the twelve Caesars and the Imperial Families.
This is a one time shot: there is a small grouping of maybe 20 honest pieces, consisting of Roman mold-blown, free-blown, and early Egyptian core-formed glass. After much research we feel we have priced the objects at wholesale or below, which will assist both dealer and collector alike, so good luck everyone!
Keep your eyes open for the amphoroskis from the Dorothy Lee Jones collection, a great opportunity.
