A 50" Animated Santa Figure by Gemmy
This Santa Figure was made by Gemmy and sold primarily via WalMart circa 1991(28 years ago)
This figure has a traditional red suit made of a velour type fabric and trimmed in white faux fur
His head/face is molded plastic painted realistically and wearing a red fabric hat that matches his suit.He stands on a brown plastic base which contains the outlets for the adapter and the microphone as well as the buttons that activate him.
He i...s powered via an adapter (this is a newer adapter that the previous owner purchased as a replacement for the original which he misplaced)When activated, he sings Christmas songs ("It's The Most Wonderful Time OF The Year", "Up On The Housetop" "Winter Wonderland", Santa Claus Is Coming to Town (Motown version) and "Jingle Bells"), his head turns side to side and his mouth opens and closes in time to the music. His body also sways side to side causing his arms to bob up and down, lending the appearance of dancing.
He stands 50" high to the top of his hat.For storage/sipping, his head removes and his torso pushes down onto his legs where it locks making the whole unit about 36" high
He comes with his original box though the box is quite worn and torn after almost 30 years of storage.Santa Himself is in very good condition with no rips, holes or evident wear to his costume. A little bit of dust on his fur but nothing distracting or notable. His head/face is still nice with no evidence of wear to the paint. He sings and dances well. His mouth opens and closes in time to the music but doesn't move as dramatically I believe it should, perhaps a little spray of WD-40 would loosen his jaw a bit. The adapter and microphone are brand new replacements. The adapter works well and the microphone is still new/unopened but I can see no reason why it wouldn't work effectively.
