Original Description:
Here's an early X. Bazin bottle that dates to the late 1850's right after the transition when Bazin purchased the company from E. Roussel.  The bottle is 6-sided and embossed on 3 sides:  X. BAZIN SUCCR TO E. ROUSSEL PHILADELPHIA.   It has a sheared top that appears to have been ground to accommodate probably some type of metal cap.  This bottle is a great go-with for a pot lid with the same name.  I've seen an X. Bazin  potlid or two with the "successors ...to" phrase on them.
