GERMAN LUFTWAFFE SUMMER FLIGHT HELMET COMES COMPLETE WITH THE COMMUNICATION EQUIPMENTOVERALL VERY GOOD CONDITION
The mighty German Luftwaffe cut its teeth in the Spanish Civil War, and shocked the world in 1940 with swift blitzkrieg assaults on the Low Countries and France. They deployed gliders, paratroopers, fighters, and dive bombers, and established Germany as the first warring nation to wield devastating airpower. From its inception, the Luftwaffe was on the cutting edge o...f aviation technology, introducing jet and rocket aircraft, ejection seats, and radical advances in flight gear. Their Me-109 and FW-190 fighter pilots favored the classic summer flight helmet, as its ventilated design reduced fatigue during high speed maneuvers. This German WW2 LUFTWAFFE ME-109 FW-190 FIGHTER PILOT SUMMER FLIGHT HELMET is in near mint condition, with only some light scattered scratching, surface cracking, and age wear evident (ALL pictured). Otherwise, the helmet is in near mint shape, with no other damage to the crisp brown cotton mesh construction. Most interestingly, it boasts the classic ridged dark brown leather covered ear cups with internal ear phones, sports a warm sheepskin fleece partial lining with translucent plastic interior ear phone covers, and features the throat mic and internal wiring loom with back end plug.
