This is a very rare vintage tin litho race car by Yonezawa of Japan. This is the #27 Atom Race Car. Rarely does one of these pop up for sale on eBay. This car was made in 1955, and is one of the three Atom race cars made by Yonezawa in 1955. (NOTE: If you'd like to see a picture of all 3 race cars together, go to Bonhams website online, Bonhams dot com, and do a search for Yonezawa Atom Race Cars. You will see the results of an auction that ...happened in 2014 where all 3 cars were auctioned together. You can also see a picture of the #27 car on the Sega Toys wikipedia page.)Measures 15-3/4" long and approximately 4" inches wide at the widest point. I am including some homemade red window film pieces to cover the back windows of the car. I used a transparent red tape and folded the tape and stuck it together to create them. They will be shipped with the car, but NOT installed. One of the photos shows these film pieces installed. They are not original to the car. From what I understand, when you move the rear wheels on this car, sparks are supposed to be created. You do feel friction when you move the rear wheels, but the mechanism does not produce sparks. I think the only missing piece is a piece of flint which should be added to the piece of metal that touches the friction wheel. I opened up this vehicle to re-connect the axle for the front wheels which had come loose over time. That's why there are photos of the insides. Condition: All 4 hubcaps are missing from the wheels and the original rubber on the wheels is no longer there. This is a common problem with this age of toy. The front wheels are wobbly on the axle. The plastic windshield is missing, but the metal frame still exists. There is light surface rust all over the vehicle, especially in the front. See photos. A few smudges of light blue paint exist near the back of the vehicle. The windshield frame and the hood ornament are slightly dented. Some of the dark green paint is missing from the top and there is a slight dent in the top of the vehicle near the missing paint. The piece of cardboard that is installed inside the back end, near the friction mechanism has come loose. Sparks are no longer created when moving the rear wheels, however a small piece of flint added to the metal piece that touches the friction wheel may help create the sparks again. This car will be packed well and with great care. Higher shipping costs includes shipping insurance on this purchase. Comes from a smoke free and pet free home. **********************************************************************************RETURNS ARE ACCEPTED ON THIS ITEM if returned in the same condition as was shipped.
