Impressive antique large Dresden porcelain figurine .. an elegant ballerina, seated, gazing to the side. Beautifully hand painted, delicate facial features. Brown hair, adorned with flowers on... the right side. One arm is poised on the side of her chair, the other falls gracefully by her side. She wears a gown with a green bodice, lace collar and cuffs, layers of frothy ruffled and tufted lace, dotted with tiny colorful roses and flowers; green shoes. Gilt-trimmed base, with applied roses. Apx 10 1/2" high; the base is apx 6 1/8" diameter. Volkstedt maker's mark and "Germany", in blue. Offered as is, imperfect .. please note the following condition issues: there is a slender crack in the base; and lace loss in the center/front of her dress and bottom of the left side of her dress (see close-ups). Displays well as is, or certainly worthy of restoration. Enlarge photos for detail.
