16mm 800 ' Reel Containing Six Soundies Musical Shorts From The ' 40 ' S
Item History & Price
The first four are printed with reversed image which, as most Soundies collectors know, was necessary for the image to look correct when projected in a Panoram machine. The remaining two Soundies have a corrected image. All six Soundies have their opening titles. As many collectors know, the opening titles are often removed...but not in this case. In fact, the first two Soundies even have the curtain parting just prior... to the opening titles.
The six Soundies are:
(1) Delightful, Dimpled Dollies (1941) Cast: Michael Loring. Recorded by Ray Bloch and His Orchestra.
(2) Georgia on My Mind (1941) Cast: Carolyn Marsh. Recorded by Ray Bloch and His Orchestra.
(3) Stone Cold Dead in the Market (1946) Produced and Directed by William Forest Crouch. Cast: Gracie Barrie.
(4) Swanee Swing (1944) Cast: LaVilla Tullos.
(5) A Show of Our Own - This entertaining short is not an actual Soundie, but rather, a production from a "rival concern". This is actually a Joe Bonica presentation distributed by Movie Newsreels of Hollywood, California.
(6) Paper Doll (1942) Produced by Sam Coslow. Directed by Josef Berne. Cast: The Mills Brothers and Dorothy Dandridge. An Officical Films print.
