They look mid-century to me and hand painted. I don't know what kind of wood it is, but a beautiful wood that shimmers in the light. The paint looks old to me too but not cracked or flaking, just a few very normal marks on them from use over time. I t...hink they are just beautiful as they are. I kept turning them and spinning them so you can see them from every angle & every side! Enjoy these!!
