For your consideration: A beautiful Edward vom Hofe Model 423 Restigouche Salmon Fly Reel in the very desirable 2/0 size with its original marked case.
This hard rubber German silver beauty has a serial #of H335 indicating it was made in 1915. The reel is professionally engraved with the owners initials and a 1917 date....

This reel is in excellent condition with a warm patina that only years of being treated with respect can earn. The foot has been professionally narrowed to fit a rod but otherwise the reel is almost like new. The hard rubber side-plates and German silver fittings all rate excellent as does the spool which is clean as a whistle.
The reel's clicker is loud and strong and the drag works as it should. The case is stamped with the oval Edward vom Hofe logo and has a German Silver plaque on the lid with the matching initials E.J.L. The top strap is present but has detached from the lid. The lid is complete but the stitching between the lid's top and brim has worn out.
This 103 year old warrior has stood the test of time and come out looking like a champ. It is ready to be fished once again or retired with respect to some collectors cabinet. A fine example in great condition.
