For your consideration is this Rare & Unique Antique HandcraftedRomanian Copper Still w/ Heavy Copperworm. I purchased this recently from anantique collector & dealer who purchased this while on a trip to Romania. They are approx. 100+ yrs old and were usedin rural Romanian households. The patina& blackened areas attest to that fact. What makes this still rare & special is that it is not onlyhandmade, but great care went into fashioning beau...tiful & primitivehandcrafted embellishments such as a large cluster of grapes, tulips & afloral-looking button. The seams, joining of copper & overall construction attest to not only it’s old agebut it’s handmade indigenous craftsmanship – a absolutely great piece. Measures approx. 18” tall (to the top of the lidhandle) & is 12 ¾”" wide . The still spout is approx. 3 ½” long. The copper worm is one hefty piece ofcopper! It weighs approx. 2 ¾ lbs. – incurrent coiled position, it measures 26 ¼”. The copper tubing doesn’t exactly fit onto the still spout as is – thereis only a difference of about 1/16” – a simple adjustment of the spout tube orcopper opening should remedy that. It isin nice antique condition – there are some minor dents, marks, wear &darkening from use, but that is to be expected. The copper spout is firmly fixed. There are a total of 4 tulips – it originally had 6, but 2 are missingfrom the back (see photo).
