VRARE VICTORIAN c1870 CHINESE DESIGN ENAMEL PORCELAIN BRONZE MANTLE CLOCK MINTONATTRBUTED TO CHRISTOPHER DRESSER FOR MINTON JAPY FRERES Hello, thank you for having a look at our auctions. Up for Auction with NO RESERVE is a VERY RARE VICTORIAN c1870 CHINESE DESIGN ENAMEL PORCELAIN & BRONZE MANTLE CLOCK. The Clock is a top notch quality example and though unsigned I have seen very similar Enameled pieces marked Minton and designed by the famous Christopher Dresser. The Clock features exquisitely Hand Painted porcelain panels with Chickens and the Bronze portions are richly Gold Gilded. I particularly love the bust of the young Chinese girl on top. The Clock works are also marked for the fine French Clock makers Japy Freres and I am told would date to around the 1870's.
Condition: The Clock is in excellent condition for the age with a couple very small chips to the enamel as seen but no cracks or repairs. There is no key for the Clock but we have a universal key which we used and the clock winds nicely and seems to be working, though we sell all clocks as is, most likely needing servicing.
Size: The clock is an wonderful size for display measuring 12 inches tall by 6-1/4 inches wide and 4-1/2 inches deep.
This is a Rare and desirable clock, I doubt you are going to see another like it up for auction here on eBay again any time soon, especially selling without reserve !
