Original Description:
For your consideration: A Eugene Roussel green squat porter beer bottle.  It is embossed in a script font around the entire base of the bottle, w/ " Philad. " in a double-line font below.  It was blown in green glass batch into a two-part private mold and finished with an applied double-tapered collar in the later 1860's.  This was recovered from a Northwest Phila. household dump excavation about 10 years ago.  It is in good dug condition with no damage save an icep...ick lip chip.  Some roughness along the lower lip taper of the collar.  Otherwise in nice stable condition with mild use and light ground wear.  It displays nicely.  It measures: 7 1/4 x 2 11/16".
