This is an Indonesian Wayang Klitik shadow rod puppet-quite possibly Kresna or Rama who both have dark faces
He would have been brought back as a souvenir.
Wayang Klitik puppets are made of wood and are carved in low relief. They are painted. They are moved directly in front of the audience. There is no screen. The puppet theatres are really special and date back to medieval times.
He is 10 1/2 inches tall to the bottom of the rod
He is missing one hand and rod, his ...other arm is detached from the body so is in need of repair.
There are one or two small surface marks, as you will see from the pictures.
