Fuxianhuia protensa This specimen has both eyes preserved, as well as what some authors would call its brain and cardiovascular system. This is truly an exceptional fossil and would be the centerpiece of any Cambrian collection. *The Chengjiang Biota is the oldest and most famous of the four biotas that feature exceptional preservation in the Malong/Kunming area. It underlies the younger Xiaoshiba Biota, which has recently yielded many fascinating arthropods such as Zhiwenia, Alac...aris, Chengjiangocaris and Fuxianhuia xiaoshibaensis.Underlying this is Malong Biota, which yields the widest diversity of trilobite genera (Paramalungia, Yinites etc) of any of the four biotas.The youngest of the four, the Guanshan Biota, is poorly studied but promises a faunal diversity on par with the Chengjiang Biota.
