A beautiful George IV sterling silver covered wine cooler in the Regency taste.
Emes & Barnard in 1824, the most prolific London work shopof the period.
Waldron, page 335 illustrates a similar entwined handle wine cooler, made c1825.
In campana form with satin chased folded acanthus and cattail rising from folded petal stem.Applied and then richly hand chased oak... leaf and acornd along shoulder.Panel fluted cover with cascading grape and leaf rim.Cover retains the original hallmarked, folded petal bud form finial with original, hallmarked fastener.Life like, cast twin oak branch handles, with acorn and leaf applied toconjoined center.
No monogram.
