Description/Interesting Notes: A large and impressive example of native copper from this classic Michigan locale!!! This specimen consists of a large, showy cluster of complex native copper crystals in association with a small amount of massive quartz, calcite, and some other related species in minor association!!! Th...e native copper exhibits much more crystallization than it appears in the pics, and exhibits complex surface features with an attractive, varied patina!!! This specimen is WAY better than it appears in the pics!!! This specimen was sold by Lawrence Conklin in 2001 for $4500 and retains paperwork from that sale, along with Conklin's detailed description noting that the patina was similar to that seen on certain prized Indian Head Pennies and was similar to a piece he sold F. John Barlow some years prior!!! Classic material - simply fantastic in person!!! This specimen retains a previous label with Ex. Frank M. Levy collection notation as well!!!
