On offer is an exceptionally large Umbilia armeniaca (Verco, 1912), F+++, 104.1, from southern Australia. Umbilia species, including U. armeniaca, have not been trawled in any quantity in over a year as the methods of trawling have changed so that the benthic-dwelling fauna is now only occasionally brought up as by-catch. In future, all Umbilia will almost certainly be more difficult to obtain. Needless to say, a piece of this size has never been easy to acquire, and such specimens are... now almost exclusively available in small quantities from old collections. This shell is in overall very good condition as seen in photos.
