Anne Julie is held in very high regards worldwide as one of Denmark's most legendary carvers of all time and for good reason. Married to the late Poul Rasmussen, upon his passing she jumped at the opportunity to learn her husband's art and quickly became known for carving exceptional high grade pipes. This is an early one and came from a world class collection in Denmark and while hard to believe, it has only had one owner! The elder gentleman had a massive collection and purchased man...y of his pipes directly from the makers themselves. This one is a lovely straight Brandy, one the Danes do so well and has a nice stout bowl offering plenty of capacity. It has a short round shank that is extended by a real horn godet that holds the vulcanite fancy fantail stem. The finish is a warm walnut that highlights the remarkable 360 degree fine angel hair straight grain that is quite stunning indeed. While aesthetically this pipe has seen better days, the bones remain sound. A fine opportunity to pick up a nice smoker from Anne Julie.

Dimensions: 4 1/2" Long, 1 5/8" Tall, 13/16" Chamber Width, 1 3/8" Chamber Depth
Condition: Good. Chamber is clean and sound. Rim shows a touch of wear and residual darkening. Briar has some deep dings/scratches. Stem is excellent (may or may not be a replacement as Julie did not use the white/red dot logo in her very early days). Overall quite nice! Weight: 30g
