S. Kirk & Son Inc. STERLINGsilver repousse pitcher circa 1932 (29.6 ounces more or less). Thissterling pitcher is in remarkable condition given its long life. A large chasedsilver water container with a handle and a lip used for holding or pouringliquids. The pitcher is decorated throughout with a hand decorated representationin deep relief of leaves, flowers and branches before a stippled background. Theunderside of the water pitcher’s base of support was inscribed for Rut...h Penzel Moore October 1937 From Mother.It was stamped HAND DECORATED, S. Kirk & Son Inc., STERLING and the number 13.It is noted that the mark S. Kirk & Son Inc. STERLING was in use from 1924-1932. Thehand decorated reference means a pattern formed in relief was beaten or pressedup from the reverse side. Weight – A USPS electronic scale weighedthis water pitcher at about 29.6 regular ounces or 846 grams more or less. Condition – This sterling water pitcheris in very good condition as if hardly used. It has a bright sterling finishwith sharp detail. It is clean with pockets of tarnish. The base of support isflat. There is a ding in the surface of its bottom half that is about 1/8” X1/16” (see final pic). There is an inconspicuous fleabite on the back of the plainrim. There is a nearly imperceptible scuff on the rim of the lip. Dimensions – This pitcher measures upto about 8.25 inches tall.
