I had sold on eBay in the past fall about 25 or so of these photos with all sorts of captured German aircraft from this collection. The mechanics from the 451st must have been involved in ...sending them back to the USA for study. I apparently missed this one in the bunch.
What is interesting about the photos is that not only is there nose art but it’s frequently on both sides of the nose. In addition, there are some tail gunner, waist gunner and even mechanic nose art and you can make out a lot of their names. Also, the planes have lots of bombing missions depicted as well as water landings. Some of the photos have been marked on the back and mention that the B-26 was shot down or disappeared on a mission. I’ve never seen WWII bombers before with such extensive art work and bombing missions depicted.
I will be happy to combine shipping for high bidders who win more than one auction. Please wait until the auctions are completed and I will send you a combined invoice.
To my international buyers, please note that I cannot send the photo via airmail as there is no way to track it. Ebay requires me to send it first class mail at $13.09 so that the photo can be tracked. However, many photos can be sent combined for the $13.09 price. If you purchase more than one photo, please wait until the auctions are completed and I will send you a combined invoice.
