J. W. Benson Pocket Watch. Silver Full Case Fob. London 1875 Vintage Gentleman
Item History & Price
The face is unmarked but the case is stamped "JW", which I believe is J.W. Benson of London (see http://www.vintage-watches-collection.com/watch/jw-benson/vintage-jw-benson-watches-for-sale/)
The movement is covered even after opening the case and has an ornate balance wheel bracket.
I cannot find a maker's mark on the movement, just the serial number 15314.
Not running at present but I believe the mechanism is c...omplete and the balance wheel continues to run for a few seconds if it is started so may not require much attention.
The three main parts of the case are hallmarked and I believe this is from London in 1875.
There is no winding key and I think there should be an opening button on the top of the case. Otherwise I think this watch is complete and in reasonable condition, although the case has obviously been well polished in use.
