Having been left out of the '53 Bowman issues, Topps made sure not to drop the ball when it decided to include this young talent in its 1953 issue. The offered #244 card shows the 'Say Hey Kid' with a fiercely determined 'fielding' pose. This is one of those issues where what few high grade copies surface regularly underwhelm investor expectations due to the inherent fragility and scarcity of the issue. Offered here is what we believe to be among the finest NM-MT copies in the world, boasting exceptional attributes throughout. Virtually dead centered with easily the best surfaces we've seen on the issue. Free of excess print and boasting tremendous gloss, color and clarity. The all-important lower right corner is virtually NM-MT+. Upon very close inspection, the top two corners are minimally touched and some exceedingly light edge chipping is present. All told, this card redefines what's possible for the issue and sets the tone for what an exceptional '53 Mays can truly offer. We love this card and are delighted to be offering it to the investment community. Far superior to what the grade suggests and an outright steal for the grade. Part of an extensive run of high-grade '53 Topps examples on the market this month. Nearly every card is assessed by PSA as NRMT to MINT with many showing better attributes than the grade assigned.
