1834 Ginori Capodimonte Porcelain Beer Stein. 10”. Marked. 1834 and 55 in blue under glaze. Royal Factory, Naples, Italy. In 1806 production came to a halt owing to the French Occupation; and in 1807 the factory was taken over by the French firm Giovanni Poulard Prad in Doccia who sold the concern in two halves after changing hands again. The factory closed in 1834. Various forms of this mark were used in the 19th century and appear incised or in u...nderglaze in blue. Ginori Factory, Doccia, NR. Florence, Italy. General pottery and porcelain was produced by the Ginori Factory at Doccia from 1848. This mark appears on pieces made using moulds and models bought from Capodimonte and Naples. In the late 19th century the Ginori Family went into partnership with Giulio Richard of the Milan Factory. There is a paper label on this piece stating this was in Louisiana Purchase Exposition 1904. Rare.
