Hippeastrum / Amaryllis Rare Seed Cross ‘Pompidou’ x ‘Santos’ Hello and Welcome! You are bidding on Ten (10) fresh seeds produced by careful hand pollination, under controlled indoor conditions, of ‘Pompidou’ with the pollen of ‘Santos.’ The photos provided in the listing show the actual plants that were used to produce these seeds. The seed parent plant (mother) is shown in the second and third pictures. The pollen paren...t plant (father) is shown in the first picture. Seed Parent (Mother)‘Pompidou’ was registered by Berbée Amarylliscultures in 2008. This cultivar has been classified in the Diamond Group bythe Royal General Bulb Growers' Association (KAVB). Its flowers remind me of a water color painting. I have not seen this variety offered commercially since 2011. Pollen Parent (Father)‘Santos’ was registered by Berbée Beheer B.V. in 2003. This cultivar has been classified in the Diamond Group bythe Royal General Bulb Growers' Association (KAVB). It flowers faithfully every year producing four good sized flowers with ruffled edges per umbel along with its beautiful variegated foliage. Sadly, this lovely, widely sought-after variety is out of production and all commercial planting stock has been discarded. I have not seen it offered for sale since 2014.
