SUPERB OLD CHINESE WHITE JADE FU LION BIXI GRASPING LOTUS FIGURE QIANLONG Hello, thank you for having a look at our auctions. This week we are offering a choice selection of top quality Chinese art objects from the important Cowperthwaite family collection. The collection's origins date back to the earlier 20th century when the family resided in the UK. During the mid 20th century the family was instrumental in establishing Hong Kong as an open market leading the way to the creation of... one of the most powerful and important market places in the world. Up for auction is a SUPERB CHINESE WHITE JADE FU LION BIXI GRASPING LOTUS FIGURE. This figure is a superb example one of the finest quality jades we have offered in some time. By the exceptional qualities I believe this figure would date from the 18th to 19th century and may have been carved within the Imperial workshops. The jade stone is a very fine prominently white color. This figure is one of a few great quality jades being offered in this week’s estate sale.
Condition: The figure could use a light cleaning and is otherwise in very fine estate-fresh condition with no damage and no repairs.
Size: The figure measures 2 1/4 inches long, by 1 1/4 inches wide and 1 1/2 inches tall. The figure weighs 94 grams.
