Very rare and MASSIVE, 1890’s Cast Iron, Horse Drawn Stake Body Dray / Beer Wagon manufactured by the Hubley Manufacturing Company of Lancaster, Pennsylvania. This HUGE and very early, cast iron Dray measures a whopping 23” long overall by 8 1/2" tall (to the top of the original, separately cast driver's head) and 4 3/4" wide!!!
This early Dray / Beer Wagon is drawn by a pair of matched, brown Draft Horses. The long, Wagon features removable stake slats ...linked by original iron chains. Both sides of the driver’s bench seat support feature cast text that reads simply “Dray. The Dray retains its original separately cast driver and is 100% complete with all original iron chains and stakes. This is among the longest, Cast Iron Horse Drawn Drays of this era - what a Toy for a child!!!
This wonderful and very substantial, Cast Iron Stake Body Horse drawn Dray Wagon is 100% original with original cast iron wheels, original pressed steel floor to the bed of the Wagon, original, cast iron Driver and original stake sides and chains.
This wonderful and massive, Hubley Horse Drawn Dray / Beer Wagon is in very good condition. It is 100% original has never been repainted, touched-up, restored or altered in any way. The Dray retain approx 80% of the original red, brown and gold gilt paint. There are no crack, breaks, chips, repairs or physical damage of any kind to any element of the Wagon. The Dray is 100% complete and is a simply fantastic display piece!! We are including the “cargo” that the Dray came to us with the Toy – not sure how much, if any, is original.
