Here's a mint, working, all-original 1924 Music Master "Concert Radio Amplifyer" horn loudspeaker with a 22" diameter spruce bell. Yes. Spruce.Mahogany Music Master Concert horns are uncommon. Spruce Music Master Concert horns are basically unknown. I've a seen a few spruce Cygnet horns for Edison Idealia phonographs, manufactured in the teens, but in the 30 years I've been buying and selling phonograph and radio related antiques, this is the first Concert-sized spruce radio horn I've ever seen. Condition is like new, as you can see in the phonographs. The enormous wood bell is essentially perfect, with a smooth original finish and a flawless original Music Master Cabinet decal. The throat and base are likewise in mint condition, with mint original gold-veined paint. The original driver cord is like new. The original felt on the underside of the base is like new, as is the flawless original paper label affixed to that felt.And the speaker still works great. Sounds fantastic when paired with just about any 1920's battery radio you want to throw at it. Stands approximately 27" tall, and measures 19" from front of the bell to the back of the swan's neck throat. RAM Ls35a Speakers. Extremely rare. Only a couple of hundred pairs ever manufactured.Impedence: 15 ohmsIf you're viewing this listing then you know what you're looking at - these speakers need no introduction.They sound absolutely fantastic. Matching serial numbers.These speakers were passed on to me as an inheritance from a friend who passed away, who had owned them from new. In excellent condition. There is one tiny mark on the back top corner of one speaker - please see photo 9. This is barel...y noticeable - it measures approx 3mm x 1mm and is almost always out of view. The perfectionist could put a tiny amount of wood stain or something similar to make it look perfect but it really is miniscule and is out of view. There's also a tiny mark on the top front edge of one speaker - this didn't even show up in all of the photos so I took a close up - please see the last photo. Again this is barely noticeable. Aside from these, the speakers are flawless. I am being very picky here for the sake of completeness. They really do look - and sound - beautiful. An internet search will show just how incredibly rare these RAM LS35A speakers are - here's a brief background:This article is an interview by RAM founder Vince Jennings who co-founded the company in 1974. In it, Vince says that RAM took over one of the three LS35A licenses from Chartwell in 1978 after Chartwell went into liquidation. See photos. There are also four small padded "feet" on the bottom of each speaker. These look to be self adhesive. I would imagine that these could be removed if you wanted - or they could be left on to give a cushioned contact with the surface beneath.
