The Africa twin is possibly the most reliable, versatile and proven adventure touring motorcycle ever produced during the 80s. Very good condition original JMI AC15 Twin amps are very rare indeed I hate to part with this one I purchased this about 15 years ago from Ampaholics , a reputable UK based dealer of vintage British amps. The serial information I used to date the amp is from the benchmark book VOX Amplifiers: The JMI Years published in 2012 by Jim Elyea. I think it is accurate but no guaranty. It could be a year or so either way. Here is what I can say:-amp works great and has an exceptional VOX tone. Remember, ...the Beatles started out with AC15s- This has the original power cord with a British plug but will include the adapter to convert it to US plug. The amp has the stock voltage selector switch so you can plug straight in with no transformer needed.- Check out the original 12 inch speakers with serial numbers 35777 and 35781 - 4 speakers apart - original footswitch is included and tremolo works fine- the back panel plate with serial number is the Type 7 plate which first appeared in 1964- tolex and grill cloth appear original. Minor wear that is very minimal for a VOX amp of this vintage. See pics. - one or more handles and misc screws may be replaced. I cannot tell for sure. Either way the handles are original VOX parts and are vintage themselves. - I believe this is a 1966 amp by the back panel serial number of 01366 and by other amp features using the Elyea reference book. Possibly it is a 1965. - this amp still has the original Fifteen Twin badge on the front bottom right grill cloth. - amp has the original Fane 12 speakers. Cones are in good shape but I have no idea if they are original. These speakers sound exceptional. - gray control panel- comes with a vintage VOX amp cover -has many old Mullard BVA tubes. You can see the EF86 Mullard pre amp tube in pics. - original transformers and choke. -plenty of the sought after WIMA components on the circuit board. Up for sale is a 1972 Yamaha LS2 100cc Motorcycle. Clear title. All original. Only 601 miles. Matching numbers LS2-009772. It does rundrive. Motor sounds great with no noises or leaks. All of the electronics do work. Both front and rear brakes work as they should. Gas tank has no dents, inside is clean. Overall the chrome does show rust pitting. With the champagne colored metal work and the acrylic windows, it suggests that it might be a hi-fisounding amp, full of sound and fury. Under the skin though, it proves to be a pragmatic design, and might be the most practical power amps Ive used. The first clue that it wasnt a typicalamp design was the specifications.
This auction is for an extremely rare 654 cc JAP V twin engine which was fitted to many other quality machines from the veteran and early vintage era. The engine number (H53843) denotes it as being originally fitted to a Rover V twin built for the Russian army in WW1 but never delivered due to the revolution and then sold onto the civilian market. An article in The Motor Cycle on April 5th 1917 announced the model (thanks to 'Yesterdays' of Holland for this information). There are also various o...ther stamps including the number '14' in a circle which may denote the year of manufacture, another saying 'JAP PATENT' as well as the number '904' stamped into each crankcase half which shows the halves are matched and left the factory together. There are a couple of other random letters which appeared after cleaning which I can't see mean anything and perhaps they were part of the manufacturing process. I've had the cast aluminium parts very gently aqua blasted by a specialist experienced in working on old bikes to clean them as they were filthy. I forgot to take the magneto chain cover so this will need cleaning. The barrels have been bead blasted to clean them and I've left the pistons and conrods alone to be inspected and cleaned by the new owner. The conrods have surface rust but the big end seems to be good - moving smoothly with no play. However I'd recommend a strip and inspection at the minimum. There are some parts missing as you will see such as one cam, a cam-wheel and timing cover but the main parts are there including the crankcases, crankshaft, con rods which are in good condition with no play, pistons and rings (no gudgeon pins), barrels with good bores, valves, springs and collets, one camshaft, a set of followers and guides etc.The engine looks to be in good condition and I've loosely assembled it to see what's there. Unfortunately I forgot the conrods when I put it together so they appear in a separate photo The engine appears to have been stored for a long time and as such the barrels have no broken or missing fins apart from one small nibble in one fin which can be seen in the photo's and there is no significant corrosion to the crankcases.The winning bidder is very welcome to collect and have a cup of tea but I'm also happy to send to the UK and abroad. In the UK I will send this insured via a good quality courier such as UPS or Parcelforce, it's too valuable and historically significant to send via Hermes. Insurance costs can be up to 5 of the value and I will need to add this to the shipping cost. The center bridge plate was nicely braced with a good weld a great many years ago just to strengthen a likely slightly wobbly bracket (which is a common minor flaw of this design.) The guts can be cleaned up and painted to perfection for a "Show Bike, " or just cleaned and polished for a real nice original bike. New style bodies were used, old school used springs finished the build. Sold the CanAm and the new owner did not want to pay up for the Ohlins. His loss your gain. Shocks have about 18 motos on them.
Royal Marutaka P-61 Black Widow Vintage RC Airplane Kit 72" wing span requires twin .40 engines. I disturbed as little as possible while taking photos of this kit. It is as flawless and complete as is possible to be. The box is clean and fresh. The wood has obviously never been out of the box. The plastic bags of hardware have never been opened and still have their factory seals. The decal sheet is still in its unopened plastic bag. It contains all of the clear canopies and ABS parts that came ...with the kit and all are in perfect, untouched condition. The plans and instruction sheets are clean and crisp and show no wear at all.There are a lot of stories surrounding this kit. Some say that there were only 3 made before the factory closed down. Others have called it one of the "Holy Grail" kits. In any event, it's one of the rarest kits in existence and in perfect condition.
